If Obama had picked Duke, (especially after his bball session with our Tar Heel boys last spring!), I would have been in severe emotional distress.

“Women’s sexual needs are not a scientific mystery. Want to increase female libido? Put down the pharmaceuticals and free our minds with equal pay, affordable child care and equitable distribution of household responsibilities. Wondering why women gravitate toward sexually passive roles? The answer has far less to do with evolution than with the ways women are shamed for...

Blind Man Sees With Subconscious Eye →
Scientists are reporting the case of a blind man who can see—even though he can’t perceive sight.
I just listened to a couple NPR podcasts that I had backed up from last month, and came across this. I’m definitely emailing this to my Sensation and Perception professor; we’re working on visual perception right now.

My dream last night ended with the image of me and my mom sitting at a picnic table beside a barbed wire fence, where a little squirrel was leaning over and puking occasionally. I kept trying to give him snow to eat (water?) so he wouldn’t dehydrate, but instead of eating the snow off the pinecone I offered him, he kept trying to climb up my arm.
Yo-Yo Ma played air cello at Inauguration →

First of all, best link title ever.
Second of all, standing at Inauguration, listening to this piece, I had a couple of thoughts:
1) Inauguration + Classical (style, at least) Music = All kinds of awesome.
2) Simple Gifts is one of my favorite songs! Especially Allison Krauss’ version (go find it, I think it’s on wikipedia)
3) I’ve played Air before! Sweet!

So a couple of my friends, a year and a half ago, started making plans for an epic Bush’s last day/one of the guys’ 21st birthday party, and made an event called Bush’s last day/[redacted]’s 21st/PHISH REUNITES!!—on the premise that when Bush left office, it would be so awesome that Phish would reunite.
…Bush is leaving office. [redacted] is turning 21. And...
